Before the Seven Hour War Thekla was like any every other aspiring intellect and spent the better part of fifteen years in college. Racking up an impressive amount of pedigree, her accomplishments made her one of the most desired minds in West Germany, then Germany when it was reunified. Like many of the great minds humanity had to offer however during the seven hour war she was powerless. Unable to defend even herself from the wanton destruction that tore Berlin apart. However, after the war she was located and put into the care of the fledging human arm of combine researchers where she was put to great use. She was part of the majority of the combines early projects and gave them leaps and bounds to work off.

Thekla was made blind to the suffering of her fellow humans as she worked in the ivory tower of the citadel for sixteen years. Until she accidently learned what was truly happening down in the cities below and made a daring escape out into the wasteland on her own.​

THAT'S IT, THAT'S FUCKING IT. MADDISON'S WORDS LONG AGO I THOUGHT WERE A FOOLISH IDEA THAT LEADS TO NOTHING GOOD BUT I'M STARTING TO THINK SHE'S ONTO SOMETHING. THEY MADE ME MAKE MONSTERS, THEY MADE ME MAKE MACHINES OF WAR, THEY MADE ME A SLAVE TO THEIR ARMIES AND TO THEIR COMPUTER SYSTEMS. THEY'VE TRIED TO TAKE MY LIFE MULTIPLE TIMES NOW AND I'M NOT GOING TO STAND FOR IT ANY LONGER MY GLOVES ARE OFF. LUCAS WAS RIGHT, THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THEM AND US IS EMOTION, I'VE STRANGGLED MY FEELINGS FOR YEARS BUT NOW? I CAN'T STOP THE RAGE FROM BUILDING, IT'S OVERWHELMING MY MIND, MY SOUL, MY EYES.
