It's 3:00AM; the local news swaps from weather predictions and sports results into a live feed from City Hall.

A public spokesman for the NOPD takes the stage. The crowd filled with select reporters.

On stage includes the spokesman, the Watch Sergeant from the NOPD French Quarter Precinct, and finally a man in a black suit.

"Good evening all. Quite a few events occurred last night and we're here to clear the speculation."

"On December 4th, 2018 - a truck hauling chemical waste was involved in an accident on Veteran's Memorial Freeway."
"As a result, the driver of the vehicle lost control and verged off the freeway into a neighboring cemetery."

"Due to a separate operation conducted by the NOPD, emergency services were stretched thin and response times were lacking."
"Nearby citizens directed their attention to assist in our steed."
"They had not known at the time that the trailer attached to the semi-truck had erupted and begun leaking hazardous waste into the nearby area."
"In turn, civilians on scene were exposed to minor doses of hazardous chemical waste - in which Emergency Services provided aid to afflicted citizens."
"The NOPD Hazmat Team initiated a quick-response deployment to the area in an attempt to contain the waste as well."

"I'd like to calm the public down here. This was a regular response due to the circumstances on scene."
"We'd like to give our thanks to the civilians who bravely ran towards the flames to help their fellow man. Our southern hospitality showed tonight."
"Without their help, the situation could have been much worse than it already was."

"With that being said, if any citizen who had been contaminated to the waste had NOT sought medical attention at the time..."
"We'd like to invite them urgently to either report to their nearest medical center - or talk with one of our finest at the NOPD so we can make sure you get properly treated. Folks - we're still figuring out what was in that trailer and we want to make sure you're healthy and safe."

"Thank you - no questions at this time please."

The hall erupts in questions and comments from reporters. The three officials on stage begin to exit while giving short thanks out to the crowd.

"Can you comment on any casualties or fatalities at this time!"

"What about reports of people being attacked at the scene?!"

The crowd - up in arms - is ushered away by officers in the hall.
