The pain within my heart overwhelmed any other discomfort. The voice that I used for days on end to scream for help coming out for one last painful screech at the sight that beheld me...My friend. My closest friend--the closest thing I've ever had to a family member. Deceased within the arms of someone else I considered close. Her lifeless body bobbing up and down as concrete split and cracked beneath their feet as they made a mad dash for the small hole they all crawled out of.

The scream hurt. My entire body trembling while sparks stung against my body from the attempted slaughter of my own soul by some irrelevant foe off to the side. What little fluids my body had left flying from my mouth during the screech that rumbled my fractured and splintered ribcage. I didn't even notice the endless gunfire surrounding myself. A whirlwind of war completely circling the moment I was sharing between myself and the corpse of someone I held so dearly. The way her hair bounced and flicked away the shards of skull and speckled brain matter. Some sick and twisted natural brushing of her mane done inadvertently by Lucas during his mad sprint.

Despite the pain in my joints and bones I managed to crawl to a total stand. My mouth hanging open loosely while my mangled and pale limb outstretched to try and snag the Greek lady from the clutches of another. I felt my vision grow dark during the exertion I placed myself upon before the firm and rough hands of another tore me back down the deck of the boat.

Once again separated by forces beyond both of our control.

We were never meant to enjoy life...The god's above just love to toy with their pawns.
