SQUADS

2 general squads will be used for generic CCA units to put themselves within. These two squads, identical in structure and placement within the hierarchy, are split to make artificial competition that'll create more RP for the CCA faction itself. These two squads will be described below along with potential names

The ranking of these squads are identical however I will put the full pitched idea for how the CCA should be ranked

UU:CMSR-(4 Digits)
This is the lead of the entire faction of CCA

CCA: POLARIS-RL.(4 Digits)
CCA:SINGULARITY-RL.(4 Digits)

CCA: POLARIS-EU.(4 Digits)
CCA: POLARIS-EU.(4 Digits)

CCA:SINGULARITY-EU.(4 Digits)
CCA:SINGULARITY-EU.(4 Digits)

CCA: POLARIS-i1.(4 Digits)
CCA: POLARIS-i2.(4 Digits)
CCA: POLARIS-i3.(4 Digits)
CCA: POLARIS-i4.(4 Digits)

CCA:SINGULARITY-i1.(4 Digits)
CCA:SINGULARITY-i2.(4 Digits)
CCA:SINGULARITY-i3.(4 Digits)
CCA:SINGULARITY-i4.(4 Digits)

Two EU's per squad and one RL per squad.

I highly doubt we'll do it but a limit of four i1's per squad.
The rest of the ranks are entirely unlimited.

ROOK

(best i could find lmfao)

Rook is the singular Intelligence squad within City 6. Formed at the same time as the other squads to properly coordinate with other cities and run on all cylinders.

Rook is an Intel squad that can be described as a jack of all trades squad. Their purpose extending past Rebel and Criminal activities and dabbling within the Civil Administration and CCA departments of their city. This do it all operation type ended up getting them direct access to BISHOP, the City 1 Continental Intelligence Unit...Or CIU.

This close affiliation has put them in a prime spot to ensure that not just the city is safe but their own co-workers are not corrupted or corrupting others.

Obviously if ROOK is there...BISHOP isn't too far away.

There's two immediate things I can think of being useful for normal CCA squads. The point is to give players extended content and options so they play longer and don't feel they're on a linear path.

TnB tends to have two ranks above our RL equivalent. The characters are highly trans-humanized and get super duper spooky costumes and very special masks.

On an OOC level the lower of the two high end ranks was able to be achieved by normal players. This serves a health function. In a sense it's a "retirement" rank for RLs that want to softly close out their character arc with a single raw final step. This keeps them engaged and keeps them ICly engaged. Being at the head of a squad really fucking sucks ass as its a lot of management and administrative work. This is a really good antidote too that issue as there is a VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY personalized narrative for ONLY TWO characters AT A TIME to engage with.

At the end of that transhumanization arc when they go the next rank up it gives us more OOC benefits. There is upwards churn in the ranks giving a new player a chance to bask in the unique RP. It also gives us a normal player who is extremely vetted in leadership and organization where they can probably lead the faction nearly entirely without our OOC input and save us adminstrative slop.

Secondly.

It would be nice to have some sort of speciality squads or roles in the normal grunt ranks. As much as they were mishandled and talked shit about at TnB the certifications system when handled appropriately is good. While it only affects a small handful of players immensely it gives players more content to explore in their character arc. "I want to learn to become a medic," is a really damn good character arc.

In terms of speciality squads there's a certain breed of player who enjoys the feeling of being in a special unique squad, but dislikes intel. This adds further churn and narrative development to characters. A really simple one we could do is a squad of cops who's sole function is to be propaganda pieces the entire server knows will be turned into OTA once they've been seen on TV enough. It could be anything, but an OOC goal that's prestigious is disireable. Something targeted at people who want to play a lot and do big grand things, but dont wanna be an RL is our goal.

--------------------

Intel stuff.

This is a lot more simple.

Some rank that's similar to a gestapo or KGB agent dedicated to harassing citizens into ideological compliace with the regime is diserable. There are going to be players who will enjoy spending countless hours showing up to shops to interrogate people over nothing, and pester units about slacking off. Another added benefit is adding a soft chilling effect to the CCA and citizens to remind them they're in HL2.

speaking of certifications, remember when Average came back as a squad lead on Vivifica and he had that really cool S2RP gimmick where he had a Laser Designator on his gun, and when he [DESIGNATE]d a target, his squadmates would shoot it?

I think that shit was really cool. What if it gave your squadmates a buff on rolls to hit the designated target?

Lock it behind a certification, so that a squad could fill out a fireteam with a Sniper, a Breacher, an automatic rifle guy, a medic, and then the dude who designates targets.
Either squad lead, or just call it Recon maybe

I do think certifications for it could be cool but I don’t think they should immediately be present, especially if we’re wishing to start with just pistols.

That’s definitely something that should appear later stage when the Combine are losing control

They don't necessarily have to be combat related. We could have certifications that let people flex a hall monitor status over other cops. A certification for being a good brainwashed puppet or something. It could easily lead into intel stuff bcz some of the most fun I see cops having is working their way into the intel job. When i was a RP ruining intel cop i'd rope in random units into interrogating people and fudging things OOCly into thinking it was important.

Imagine you get on server and the special snowflake CCA squad or intel gives you a badge and gives you license to go make interesitng new RP. It could easily lead to an us vs them with snowflakes vs normal cops for more interesting RP. It will naturally create a roleplay rich environment bcz other cops might see it as "they're poaching someone and stripping them away from our in group." All we'd have to do is give them a badge.
