SINGULARITY and POLARIS are the squads tasked with maintaining order over the wretched souls tasked with reclaiming City 6. Due to the lack of functional surveillance infrastructure in the area, units who transfer into this City receive a rudimentary crash course in forensic science prior to entering active duty.
Units in these squads are capable of identifying common shell casings left over after a firefight, are equipped to check for and lift fingerprints, and can determine the cause of death and roughly estimate the time of death based on the appearance of a dead body.
This is not an ideal assignment. City 6 is smaller than some Work Details you've seen before, and you are both underequipped and underpaid. Your commanders assure you this will be addressed in due time, but until then... well, you'll just have to make do.
No position in either of these squads will be off-limits to any player. This includes commander roles, although you will be expected to maintain a fairly regular presence if you are promoted into one of these roles.

The CMSR is your squad's Commissar, the link connecting boots on the ground to the byzantine bureaucracy of the Combine.
The RL is your squad's Rank Leader, the Commissar's second in command who serves both as an example of the Commissar's expectations for subordinates, and an interpreter of his orders, translating them into something the rank and file might be more capable of understanding.
The EU are Elite Units, chosen by the Commissar and Rank Leader to ensure their orders are carried out.
They have comparatively little decision-making power, although enforcing orders and enacting punishments may be left to their discretion.
i1, i2, i3, i4 - In descending order, these are the positions of the vast majority of the CCA. You will enter service as an i4, issued and taught the bare minimum. Provided you don't flunk out and return to the citizen workforce, you will eventually move up these ranks.
To acquire better equipment and privileges, you will have to obey your superiors-- or at least avoid their wrath when you choose to disobey.

All units will be required to follow clearly defined Rules Of Engagement, which will loosen as the Sociostability drops.
Engaging in corruption, breaking RoE or communicating with the enemy will not face OOC punishment.
We're not doing Rogue Auths this time. You can go rogue at any point after your first month on duty.
We'll instead ask you to fill out a Rogue Disclosure, but that's not an application.
It's pretty much just your way of saying,
"hey guys, heads up, my cop is doing this thing, just so you know what's going on."
Any actions taken IC will only be punished if they're discovered IC.
More clarification on this will be coming soon, although it is our express intent to have as few limits on player creativity as possible.
