Resistance Bulletin Board

✝ Anna

I know the new place isn't exactly a five-star hotel. But it's shelter.
The Prophet's map led us here, and I'm pretty sure he knew what he was doing.
Hopefully we lost the OTF and Horizon back in Pripyat.

Two months since we derailed that train back in the desert-- but our friends in Moscow haven't forgotten us.
They sent a scout down south in hopes that they'd be able to make contact again.
I'd imagine that walking a couple hundred miles, alone, on foot, he was hoping for an army.
Let's try not to take his disappointment too personally. He seems like a nice guy.

Horizon's in the valley. They sniped some poor bastard and carried the body off.

Assuming 792 is compromised.

New signal is 493

Got some supplies. Put most of 'em in the chest, other than the 40mm. Gonna make sure Sami personally gets her hands on these.

120x rounds 5.56
2x MP7s
60x rounds 45acp
120x rounds 9x19
1x Steyr AUG
3x 40mm Grenades
2x box of explosives (with detonator)
3x walkie talkies

Going to be running some jobs the next couple of days. I've got money if you're into that, and there's gonna be plenty of shit worth shooting, too.

Might try to push deeper into that old mine, get our hands on some antlion larvae. You can refine their juice for medical applications, right?
Sable would probably appreciate us getting rid of the antlion hive, too.

B.O.L.O. Supplies request:
[X6] CCA Emitting Lens Arrays. Typically located on CCA Terminals, Fabrication Units, or Lockers.

[X4] CCA Camera Assemblies. Located near CCA Facilities.

[X4] CCA Control surfaces. Located as part of most CCA Terminals.

[X1] CCA Portal Power Supply Unit (optional). Located within minor CCA Facilities.

There is no suitable compensation for supplying these components to me from our opposition. However, if these supplies are obtained, I may be able to expand the small-scale holoprojector in my possession to the project size of a 2X4-meter surface. This capability may prove advantageous for cartography and operations planning, as we may be able to display scanned three-dimensional models of facilities. A method of how we would obtain these scans, I am still working on. These components should not be genetically-restricted given their utilitarian nature. Reach out to me if you require any additional information on the project or these requested assets.

Jesus FUCKING Christ, Lucas has posted a big-ass rambling ESSAY on the bulletin board. Better make sure you've got something to drink before you tackle this one.

✝ Sam Waters
✝ Bogdan Morozov

Hey all. It’s Lucas. I’m going to try and keep this short, and put the important parts up front to save you all some time for more important things.

I know that I haven’t been at the top of my game for the past month and half-ish. I was trying to be a more assertive and ruthless leader because I thought that's what you all wanted, and I was dealing with the stress and grief I’ve been bottling up by making some seriously stupid and irresponsible decisions. But I've had some important talks lately and I've figured out the exact scale of the dumbfuckery I've been engaged in.

So, effective immediately, I’m changing my priorities to make an immediate and genuine effort to fix all the serious issues that my recent behavior has resulted in and to try and be a better friend and leader-- which is what you deserve. You guys have put your faith in me and I need to take that seriously and stop disappointing you guys.

So here's some changes I'm going to be making.

  1. I’ll be dialing it back on the drinking. Brooklyn told me it was a really good way of dealing with your emotions, but I think she just didn’t know what therapy was.
  2. I’m putting my relationships on hold and prioritizing this group’s wellbeing and security. I understand that this has been a major point of contention for some of you, and I’m finally ready to admit that I was letting it distract me from the immediate life-and-death concerns that we face as a fighting force. I already spoke to Morgan and Demi before we went to the Relay. It wasn't pretty, but my top priority is this group now.
  3. I’m not going to keep trying to do all this tough guy “I AM THE CAPTAIN” type stuff. Sorry to Chance and Judge, but I’m not cut out for it. And I don’t think it’s yielded me any positive results.
  4. I am going to be making an effort to organize this group a little more before we hit Moscow. I don’t know if that means assigning permanent fireteams, or appointing leadership roles in different areas of expertise, like security, medical, technology, and stuff like that, or if it just means putting a lock on the community stash and making sure nobody’s taking every last bullet out of there without any oversight or recordkeeping. Feel free to offer suggestions on this one.
  5. I will be spending more time talking to our contacts outside the cell to guarantee a steady flow of supplies, work, and other support to keep us active, secure, and in good spirits.
  6. I will listen and attempt to address all genuine and detailed feedback that I receive. This doesn’t count those of you whose feedback consists of stuff like “I think that was rude” or “I think we’re all going to die”. But other than that, feel free to come to me with any concerns, complaints, or worries, and I will listen without judging and I will not punish you for speaking out.
  7. I’ve been thinking about doing something to honor those we’ve lost, and I still think the tattoo is a nice idea. If anyone is half-decent at stick-and-poke tattooing and promises not to draw a dick on me, let me know. We’ll figure something out.

With the relay destroyed, the Combine are missing one of their most devastating weapons, and one of the few methods they had of contacting the rest of their Empire off-world. With our victory today, the full liberation of Earth is one step closer to reality. And I have every single one of you to thank for that. Tehran’s already throwing off the Combine’s grasp, and City 17 isn’t far behind. Moscow needs our help, so let’s bust out our winter wardrobes. We’re heading further north soon.

[Posted on the Resistance Bulletin Board in the Third Floor is several pictures with some notes on them.
They have some quick TL;DR descriptions... with much longer notes down below.]

BattlePLans2.jpg

In our current sector of the city, these are the primary targets that we need to be looking at. The first picture is one of the combine's main sources of receiving troops, supplies, and everything in-between. What we need to do is set charges either at the start of the tunnels, or near the end. The mix of debris while ruining the track will hopefully begin the process of derailing any trains that pass by, eliminating one of the big threats.

The possibility of retaliation is extreme; what is to be possibly expected is numerous patrols, and or shelling within the outskirts of the city. This leaves us vulnerable, as we may need to evacuate our primary base, and set up shop towards the inner city. The problem doubles, as shown in the next three pictures, overwatch is capable of sending in more troops from these spots more quickly and efficiently.

There's a few routes that we can take on this. A more logical and 'safer' route is heading towards the city, and setting up the explosives at each of these areas marked, either by nearby supports, or the main doors itself, in areas that have it collapse down. If these areas are removed, there will be only one main area, besides the side apartments that overwatch will be able to funnel troops. If we set up multiple static defenses where they can come down from, we can effectively hold a stronger ground.

Once those areas are destroyed, then we can proceed to return back towards the outskirts, collect any supplies that we can gather to reposition the frontline, and then destroy the train tracks/tunnels. At that point, their forces will begin to trickle down; how much is debatable. The additional benefit of removing the train is that we may be able to get more resistance to help us out by covering different areas, and maybe help defend other points, such as the water purification plant towards the canals.

At this time, explosive munitions are low, however the Moscow Resistance Coalition may be able to bring us the additional munitions we require for these missions.

This will be a tough battle, that is without a doubt. However this will be a step in the path that we MUST take, for the sake of the people of this city. We WILL make it through!

A new name has been jotted down on the Requisitions list!

"Buddy Abarough - Ithaca 37, 30x 12 Gauge Shells, 70 9x19mm Cartridges taken from the Armory!"

"I'll see what I can scrape in for you guys next time!"

A small note in shaky handwriting has been delivered and pinned onto the board.

hey guys it's Lucas I'm alive. 5 minute detour to nab some explosives
ended up with me getting chucked out another window.
busted my radio too. I got the stuff though don't worry. it wasnt a TOTAL disaster.
should come in handy for the big day.

can barely walk unassisted right now though. some friends of our friends are insisting I
rest and recover first instead of crawling across an entire district to get back to you guys.
but at least they said they would deliver this letter for me, which is nice.

hope you guys are okay. we're almost there.

A note is pinned with capital letters and written with the neatness of a five year old

"I talked to the Convicts in an attempt to repair relations and not make a new enemy that is most certainly not worth it. We are on good terms with them for now and have agreed to stay out of their way if they stay out of ours. I have taken away some main points from the meeting and please read them carefully to prevent anyone from getting shot who doesn't deserve it."
  1. We are both fighting the same Enemy, if one from either group needs help we agreed to both help each other out if the Combine is assaulting one or the other. Most group members don't have to agree to this, I just offered my help and anyone else who is willing to follow this agreement.
  2. People dressed in RPF, CP or any kind of unionite clothing will need to make it clear that they are fighting with our group to avoid getting mistaken for a enemy. That can be an armband, spray paint or something.
"That's all I really got from what they wanted, they seem like decent enough people just skeptical about all of the former Union members we have, we are all fighting the same enemy and are citizens of this earth."

[A gold star is seen placed next to the note, with an additional note written neatly--]

"Excellent work on dealing with them! That's one less headache to deal with. A reminder to all; please don't piss off the locals. You don't have to like them, and you don't have to invite them into the warehouse. But we can be civil about this." -Trey

Levi here. Quick note. I put up some rope grapples and a bridge across the lower rooftops. It should make topside exploration less dangerous with the hunters they have roaming the streets.

A few months ago, a close friend told me that the life we're living right now isn't one with a lot of guarantees.
She told me that any one of us could die any day with little to no warning.

I know each and every fighter that comes with us to take down the Nexus is going to do their best to make sure nobody gets left behind, and we'll fight like hell to make sure we all stay alive, but it might be worth keeping in mind that there's always a risk that some of us might not make it back from this.

If you've got any unresolved questions, any lingering doubts or deep dark secrets you want to confess?
No time like the present.
